This book is chock full of delicious recipes that are great even if you don’t want to go full blown Paleo. It has helped us find recipes that we can have despite having allergies, and it may be helpful to you if you too have recently been diagnosed with allergies, gut problems or some auto-immune difficulty.
The author does a great job of presenting her personal journey of seeking good health and overcoming autoimmune problems. The recipes would be considered delicious by anyone. Though the book has paleo in the title, I would recommend it for all people. I am not saying that everyone needs to eat paleo. I am simply saying that if you want delicious food that is simple and easy to make, this book has it. It also has beautiful pictures to go with the recipes, so that you know what things should look like when you finish.
This book introduces the idea of nutrient–dense foods, what they are, how to get them, and how to cook them. It also explains common auto-immune problems, what to avoid and how to heal your gut. Speaking personally, it has helped me a great deal.
Why include this in a homesteaders list of books? Everything needs to be organic. Homesteaders seek to be more self-reliant and able to produce more of what they eat. This book provides you with great recipes for using what you produce! Stay creative, don’t let yourself get in a rut. The information in this book might also help you market what you produce if you are a homesteader who is interested in market gardening.
She has organized weeks of recipe meal plans. This could make it really easy to do your shopping and plan your menu for the week. Not only does she provide the menu, she provides the shopping list that goes with the menu! This is a grab and go opportunity.
This cookbook has appetizers and snacks, desserts and full meals for all three meals in a day. It is well laid out and easy to use. I find I can usually make any recipe in the book in an hour or less.
