Sourdough – (CK-202)

Sourdough

Welcome to our Sourdough course! Our homesteaders have developed a fairly comprehensive course (to which they’ll be adding periodically) designed for people new to sourdough, new to baking, or those who’ve been baking for awhile. We cover history, creating your own starter, and everything else you can think of. If you have a question, or if something isn’t adequately covered, just leave a comment and we’ll get back to you. Chances are it’s covered somewhere in the course!

How This Works

To begin, simply click the Curriculum button. From there you take lesson after lesson about sourdough, including recipes. Included in this are quizzes to test your comprehension, as well as video tutorials. Experienced bakers may just want to read the lessons which pertain to their current situation. Feel free to ask questions in the comment section as you go along! Our homesteading mentors may take a day or two to get back to you (we’re working our own homesteads), but their responses will be thorough.

Happy homesteading!

    Sourdough

I followed the steps for the sourdough no knead bread, finally understand the concept of starting the “starter” and keeping it going. Have been intimidated in the past with sourdough, this course took all the complications out for me and I was able to make a loaf of the “no knead bread” yesterday. Very much appreciate the teaching and the fact that it is taught in a way that you can understand!

  1. I have always been a little intimidated by the process of sourdough, yesterday I made the “no knead loaf”. I have been taking the course, and upon completion I had a much better understanding of starting the “starter”, keeping it going, and making a loaf of bread.
Very much appreciate the simplicity of the instructions, takes the confusion out, and is taught on an entry level understanding.
