Planting Sweet Potato Slips on Hill
- Make hill
- A slip is a piece of stem with at least one leaf on it.
- On average, each slip produces 3-4 lbs. of roots. The extreme is 2 lb. for low production to 15 lbs. for very high production.
- Poke a hole as deep as you can using a stick and stick the slip in. Plant it so that only a little bit of the slip (and the growing tip, which includes leaves) is above the ground.
- Plant the slips about 12 – 15 inches apart.
